Golf Exercise Tubing For More
Power
By:
Mike Schlacter
One of the most effective ways to increase your golf swing
power, speed and distance is making golf swings with golf
exercise tubing. This is a golf-specific training program that
strengthens and stretches your exact muscles involved in your
golf swing.
When golfers think of golf training aids, they think of the
Medicus, and other products. Well...using this tubing for your
golf training program is fast, easy, convenient and gets
results.
You can use it anywhere. In your home. Office. And even a hotel
room while you're traveling.
This portable and very affordable golf training product is
something every golfer should consider. Making golf swings with
resistance is the most efficient way to quickly add power and
distance.
Power Golf Swing Trainer For More Distance
By:
Mike Schlacter
If you're a golfer looking to improve your power and
distance, you'll want to research a golf swing trainer suited
for your needs. With training aids being overkill, it's easy to
fall into the trap most golfers fall into, which is the dreaded
infomercial.
I've been sucked in a few times myself!
The difference between a training aid and a swing trainer is
immense. The training aid is somewhat of a band aide fix. The
swing trainer grooves a feel that is appropriate to your golf
swing goals.
There are several golf swing trainers I feel are very good,
including the medicus, and the weighted golf club, but many of
them are not effective and are just a big waste of money.
I'm a big believer in a connected golf swing, so any golf swing
trainer that helps a player really FEEL the proper connection,
I'm all for it. The only downside is there are not very many
that I think are worth the money. I am always on the search for
trainers and training aids that I personally have found and
actually tried.
I have come across such a training aid!
This trainer gives you instant feel, enabling you to go to the
course and replicate it. It's very lightweight, and you can
easily hit balls with it on. The great thing is it fits right
in your bag very discretely.
Portability is very important to me. I don't want to be lugging
around a big, gawky swing trainer, that is embarrassing to use.
But this one I can use not only on the range, but in my house.
I have effectively swung with it on in my home and no major
damage was caused.
If you do a little legwork, you can come across a gem of a
trainer in a very short period of time like I did.
Improve Your Putting With Indoor Golf Practice
By: Trent
Are you a frustrated putter? Is your putting killing your
golf score? If so, you’ve got to find every opportunity you can
to practice your putting, and why not indoors with a training
aid?
Golf Putting Aids Can Help
You’ve seen them...indoor putting aids! There are a ton of
them! Some are good and some are worthless. But anything is
better than nothing. Just getting a putter in your hands and
making some putting strokes is going to help. Practice makes
perfect!
The great thing about golf putting aids is you can try them out
at your local golf store. Many of them are set up for you to
try at your convenience. This will give you a firsthand feel
for which ones you think will help your putting woes.
Putt In Your Office
I’m dead serious! Bring a spare putter to your work and do it
whenever you can. Shut your door…grab your putter…and give it a
go! A simple putting drill is to lay a glass on its side and
putt your ball into the opening of the glass. You’ve probably
seen this drill before, but have you ever done it? It
works!
You can also putt to a spot that’s maybe 8-10 feet away if you
don’t want to do the glass drill above. If you have any kind of
thick carpet, the ball is not going to roll as well, but
again…it’s better than nothing.
On Your Garage Floor
You want to mimic the greens at the Master”s? Put on your
garage floor! Talk about fast. Now I wouldn’t do this too much
as it will really throw off your feel for speed on real greens,
but it’s kind of fun once in a while.
Practice, Practice, Practice
The ONLY way to improve your putting is through practice. As I
mentioned before, One very effective way is to get an indoor
golf putting mat. They come in a variety of prices and styles,
but you’re sure to find one that you like. They can be fun to
use on those miserable winter days.
Anyhow…I hope you take my advice and get that putter in your
hand as often as you can! The next time you hit the course,
you’ll shave several strokes off your score.
Golf Teaching Aids - A Quick Review
By: Terry
Edwards
When it comes to golf teaching aids there is no shortage to
pick from. There are golf training aids available for every
aspect of your golf game. From having a proper stance to
dropping the last putt, there is something to help anyone. The
best advice here is to not get confused. Purchase a golf
training aid that help cure a particular problem area of your
golf game. Here are a few of the proven golf teaching aids that
will help everyone's golf game.
The Power Stance Trainer
This golf training aid is great if you have problems shifting
your weight during your golf swing, or can't seem to get
yourself properly aligned, etc. Having the proper alignment as
well as shifting your weight correctly is vitally important to
your golf swing. It helps you hit the ball to where you're
aiming and also produces power. This is one of the only golf
training aids on the market that addresses the importance of
your lower body in your golf swing.
The Impact Ball
This golf teaching tool will help you square the clubface
during impact with the golf ball, as well as help you gain more
distance on every shot. The Impact Ball fits between your arms
as you swing the golf club. If you swing properly the Impact
Ball will stay between your arms and not fall down. It trains
your swing in creating the perfect alignment between your body,
your hands, and your wrists during impact. This is a very good
golf training aid to own.
Medicus Dual Hinge Driver/Iron
The Medicus driver has been around for some time now, and with
good reason. It works! When properly used, the Medicus dual
hinge driver will help give you the perfect perfect golf swing.
This golf training aid is one of simplicity. If you swing the
club correctly, the hinge will not break. If you don't, the
hinge will break, and you will know your golf swing is not on
plane and in rhythm. This golf teaching tool will also
eliminate a slicing problem in your game.
The Speed Stik
Endorsed by professional golfer Vijay Singh, the Speed Stik
will help increase the power and speed of your golf swing. This
golf training aid is a 25 oz golf shaft with a built in swing
speed gauge to let you know your swing speed immediately. You
can track your progress as you continue practicing with the
Speed Stik. It will also help you strengthen the muscles that
are used during your golf swing. The Speed Stik is simple to
use and by practicing with it on a regular basis, it will give
you increased distance on every shot.
The Inside Approach
This golf training aid is endorsed and used by Jack Nicklaus.
This piece of equipment sits over the top of your golf ball and
teaches you where the club head needs to be swung in order to
correctly hit the golf ball. It will help you to make solid
contact and also increase your driving distance. This golf
training aid will also help to cure any problems with slicing
or hooking the golf ball.
Wrist Firm
This is one of the best golf teaching aids available for
learning to keep your wrists firm during your golf swing. The
Wrist Firm helps keep your lead wrist flat and firm during
impact. It will also help keep your trailing wrist from
breaking down, which can cause you to pop up the ball and rob
you of any distance. Another benefit of this wonderful golf
training aid is that it will help you keep your wrists firm
while putting.
The Swing Jacket
This golf teaching tool is actually a swing jacket that you
wear that will keep your arms locked with your body. The result
of this action is that arms will swing with your body instead
of separating and causing offline, and off center golf swings.
The Swing Jacket will help you feel what a proper swing should
be like. Using this golf training aid will give you increased
power and accuracy.
These are just a few of the many different golf teaching aids
available on the market today. Each one can easily help you
improve your golf game by giving a more correct swing, along
with more distance. Isn't that something that us weekend
golfers are always looking for?
Tracking Golf Handicap With Computer Software
By: qpolash
If you’re a professional golfer, you’ve probably got a
well-documented handicap. Everyone’s interested in your ability
so everyone is keeping track. But for golfers who are something
less than pros, your handicap may be a tedious piece of
paperwork. Why not turn to technology to help?
There are several software and Internet programs available that
will help you come up with your numerical handicap, and even
help you track your scores to establish your handicap for
tournaments.
You have options in these programs that range from online
sources to purchased software packages. Prices also vary
significantly and you can spend as little as $10-$12, or more
than $100. Remember that if you choose an online source to
check the website’s privacy policy and never offer up
personally identifying information that could result in
identity theft.
The extent of the programs varies as much as the price. You can
find programs that do all the calculations for you, offering up
a spreadsheet with all your stats, or choose a simpler program
that merely gives you a numerical handicap.
Whatever you choose, keep in mind that your program and your
figures is still only as good as your record-keeping practices.
If you’re one of those people who can’t seem to find time for
mundane tasks, you may find that you’re not also not able to
get all the stats entered to track your handicap. On the other
hand, having a computer program for the golf handicap tracking
may be just the motivation you need to keep better records.
One advantage of an online service over software is that you
can stop and enter the information from any computer with
Internet access. That means that you can get it done at the
office right after you return from a lunch golf game, or even
from the clubhouse right after you leave the course. You can
also print out your records from any location.
There are many benefits to establishing and tracking your
handicap. While the casual golfer may have little need of a
regularly updated handicap, there’s no doubt that tracking your
handicap can often be the incentive needed to improve your
game. While making better shots on the course is a good sign
that your game is improving, there’s nothing like a solid
number to prove the fact.
Remember that the results of software programs may not be
widely accepted. Before you spend the money for software and
expend the time and energy to track and document your golf
handicap, check with any tournaments you play to participate
in. Ask if they accept any software programs and check into the
rules of documentation.
If you’re looking for tournament entrance, you should check the
USGA’s handicap rules. You’ll find several online sources for
obtaining your handicap, along with how to document those
figures for tournament play.
Whether it’s simply to improve your own game or to document
your way into tournament play, it’s important to get reliable
numbers that truly represent your handicap. Otherwise, you may
think you’re making definite strides when you aren’t, or eve
that you’re not advancing your game when it really is.
