Rory McIlroy
Rory McIllroy already won two tour championships and a Ryder Cup and he is only 21 years old. McIllroy got his first taste of victory at the 2009 Dubai Deser Classic at the age of 18, only 18 months after he turned pro. A year after, he won the Quail Hollow Championship and spent most of the time in the world top ten. In 2010, McIlroy made his debut in the Ryder Cup, a tournament he will
later describe as “the best even in golf by far.” He has been described as the most exciting young golf player in the world and as being one of the best by his colleagues.
Graeme McDowell
Graeme McDowell has been described as everyone’s second favourite golf player, a title he earned by being an excellent player but not having the x-factor that has propelled other players such as Tiger Woods or even fellow Irishman Rory McIllroy to full stardom. In 2010, he barely qualified for the US Open and then went on to claim the championship. In the same year, he won the Andalucia Masters. He also holds the distinction of sinking the winning cup at the 2010 Ryder Cup. McDowell studied at the University of Alabama before turning pro in 2002. His first victory was at the Scandinavian Masters.
Pádraig Harrington
Pádraig Harrington is considered as Ireland’s most successful golfer of all time. Compared to the other golfing greats of his era, Harrington started late with his golfing career turning pro at the ripe age of 25. He won his first victory soon after at the Spanish Open. In 2006, he won the Volvo Masters when Sergio Garcia bogeyd the 72nd at the tournament. In the same year, Harrington took over the number one spot from Paul Casey. Known in the golfing world as Pod, Harrington won back-to-back Open championships in 2007 and 2008.
Darren Christopher Clarke
Darren Clarke was ranked in the Top 10 of the Official World Golf Rankings for more than 40 weeks between 2000 and
2002. In 1997, he finished second at the British Open. In 2000, he defeated Tiger Woods to win the WGC-Andersen Consulting Match Play Championship. In 2001, he played in the British Open again and placed third. In 2003, he won the WGC-NEC Invitational. He finished second in the 1998, 2000, and 2003 European Tour. He also has wins in the USPGA and Japan tours and has good records in all five Ryder Cup he played in.

After helping the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team win championships, Colm Moriarty turned pro in 2003. In 2005, he qualified for his first full season on the second tier Challenge Tour. In 2007, he won on both the Challenge Tour at the Firstplus Wales Challenge and the PGA Euro Pro Tour at the Wensum Valley International Open. In 2010, he made his major debut at the Open Championship at St. Andrews where he finished tied at 37th place.
